Article & Video Requirements

Article Content

All articles must be original articles.
Do not include any affiliate program links.
Please include which one category you wish the article to be placed (ie. Electrical, Home Renovations). See the category choices on our articles page at www.mytradesdirect.com/resources
You may not include any hyperlinks in an article at this time.
You may include one hyperlink to your business website at the bottom of the article.
All contact information should appear only at the end of the article and may only include your company name, authors name & website link.
You may choose to select up to 15 highly relevant keywords that are separated by a comma to better help people find your article faster. Non-relevant keywords will be removed.
Articles should only offer suggestions and advice to the readers, and are not meant to be advertisements for your business. Articles that are advertisements, or appear to be advertisements, will be considered spam and will not be approved for publication.

Article Formatting

Article Title: A maximum of 70 characters (including spaces) and minimum of 2 words. (We recommend using up to 50 characters for best search engine results). Do not use ALL CAPS. Do not have the name of your company or website in the title. Your author name should not appear in the title.
Article Body: A minimum of 250 words and a maximum length of 12,000 characters (approx. 1,000 words).
Article Credits: All article credit information, including your contact information should appear only at the end of the article and may only include your company name, authors name & website link in the following example format (http://www.yourcompanyname.com)
Do not use hard breaks in your article, only at the end of a paragraph .
Bold, italicize, or underline only text that needs to be emphasized, not the entire article .
Make sure to use paragraph breaks. If you don’t divide your article up into short paragraphs, it will be difficult to read, and the readers will give up on your article.
Articles can be submitted in most text editors such as MS Word or MS Works.

Video Content

All videos must be owned by you and must contain original content.
Video cannot exceed 3 minutes in length.

All contact information should appear only at the beginning or end of the video and may only include your company name, authors name & website link & business telephone number.
You may choose to select up to 15 highly relevant keywords that are separated by a comma to better help people find your video faster. Non-relevant keywords will be removed.
Videos should only offer suggestions and advice to the viewer, and are not meant to be advertisements for your business. Videos that are advertisements, or appear to be advertisements, will be considered spam and will not be approved for publication.

Video Formatting

We accept most video formats including links to U-Tube videos. Please email us using the email link below to receive instructions on how to submit your video.

Illegal/Objectionable subject matter

Family Safe Content Only: We do not allow articles or video on pornography, escort services, sex toys, violence, illegal subjects (such as movie downloads), potentially dangerous information, or hate speech. This includes both written and visual material. This is by no means an exhaustive list, and myTradesDirect reserves the right to reject any article.
Articles cannot include plagiarized material from any other person or source. You must own 100% of the article or video you wish to publish.
