Going Spiral

Spiral staircases are magical. They disappear into themselves and allow you to go up or down while you travel in circles, all at the same time. Every lap around a spiral staircase is like the completion of something. Why else would the phrase ‘coming full circle’ exist? They are mysterious, they are tempting, and many of the world’s finest pieces of architecture add spiral stairs as their coup de grace.

That said, you don’t need to be walking up the famous staircase at the Vatican to enjoy the design behind a spiral, nor should you shy away from one if you have the opportunity to put spiral stairs in your home. Aside from being beautiful and magical, they can also be quite practical space-savers. That isn’t what I wanted to talk about it, but I suppose it’s worth mentioning.
