Why you’re wrong about wallpaper

When my girlfriend moved into her new apartment a couple months ago the first thing she did was tear down the wallpaper. I semi-questioned the aggressive move, but like many, figured that wallpaper is somewhat antiquated and that she’d be better off without it patterning up her living room – driving her up the walls, so to speak (sorry, that was her joke and I refuse to suffer alone).

Since her teardown party, however, I’ve heard that wallpaper is experiencing a bit of a resurgence in the décor community. Big, bold patterns can be interesting and brave, no longer considered gaudy and garish. It’s an inexpensive way to transform a room into whatever you want it to be.

I haven’t been fully pulled over to the wallpaper side of the fence quite yet, but I’m a lot closer than I was a few months ago. If you’d like to hear more about why wallpaper is coming back to the future, Nadine Anglin helps make the case – http://www.hgtv.ca/articles/articledetails.aspx?ContentId=2749&cat=1&by=3
